Update II: The driver of the truck is dead. (WEWS)

Update: Here’s a grainy shot from WKYC which looks like it shows the body of the truck against the protective wall and the cab clearly missing.

NewsNet5 is reporting that the cab of a semi-truck ripped through the protective fencing on the Valley View Bridge on I-480 and plunged to the ground below after the truck jack-knifed on the bridge.

Initial accounts say that about 25-feet of the fence is now gone.

Naturally, I-480 westbound is now closed to traffic.

No reports of injuries so far, either on the bridge or below.
