The Browns announced today that their annual “Orange & Brown Scrimmage” will take place Aug. 7 at OSU’s Ohio Stadium.

The game will be free. Tickets will be available to season-ticket holders from June 16-19. Everyone else can pick up tix starting on June 20.

In a statement, team President Alec Scheiner said: “We are thrilled to bring the Browns to our State Capital and to our passionate football fans across the state. The Dawg Pound extends across the state and nation, and we know they have a strong presence in the Greater Columbus area. We hope fans from throughout Ohio will be able to experience this event at The Horseshoe to complement our open practices in Berea.”

  1. Since Cuyahoga County taxpayers “sinfully” support FirstEnergy Stadium, it would have been a better plan to again present to area fans a free event in downtown Cleveland and give the state a neutral site exhibition/pre-season game — as that freeway Dawg Pound should be more than willing to pay to watch the Browns play.
