Yesterday’s typical Browns game bled into at least one more tragedy for the day — this time out in The Pit.

One fan attempted to scale an imposing stone wall after the game, and it didn’t end well.

A Deadspin reader offered this narrative:

I attended the Browns game yesterday and tailgated in “The Pit” which is exactly that. After the game we were hanging out by our car waiting for the traffic to die down and this idiot came along. First he appeared through the bushes and climbed down the wall until he fell with about 10 feet left. He walked it off with a little blood on his leg. Not but 10 minutes later he was trying to climb back up. He made it all the way to the top until he fell with one hand on the ledge. Everyone thought he was dead. I heard he only broke a leg.

You can watch the video below (it ends right before the guy allegedly falls). If you look past the botched syntax in the title, you can read more about the incident in this reddit thread

  1. Obviously no idea what he was doing. A pretty elementary climb. Just like the punt muff by a pro…

  2. Hey, has there ever been any instance of an unintentional or accidental (and non-violent…stabbings, beatings, and shootings excluded) tailgating death in Cleveland?

Caused by stupidity, excess alcohol consumption, or both?

Like, say, falling off a wall? Or setting oneself on fire? Or even just choking to death on the pit of a peach soaked in vodka?

    Just curious…

(Oh, and suicides after painful losses don’t count, either…)
