We were going to sarcastically file this under: “Really Important Protest in Really Important Suburb,” but SEO shit forced us to blow our load a little bit. Anyway, you get the idea.

A rally to stop the senseless killing of innocent civilians cats in Syria North Ridgeville will rally at the source of the slaughter tonight. The nation’s largest cat advocacy group (???), Alley Cat Allies will present a petition to North Ridgeville city council calling for an end to feline euthanasia.

About time!

The rally starts at 6:45 pm at South Central Park across from city hall, and will direct its hottest embers toward humane officer Barry Accorti, who sent a feral cat and her kittens to “kitty heaven” earlier this month.

Evidently, Accorti will not be disciplined and Alley Cat Allies just can’t take it anymore. As such, part of this evening’s protest will include a meeting with humane officers to talk about measures like trap-neuter-return of feral cats.

As it happens, the rally is the second-most interesting event this evening centered around domesticated animals. That’s right, folks, it’s PUPPYPALOOZA AT THE JAKE.

Go Tribe!

And, um: Go…activism?

  1. As someone who will be attending this event, I find Mr. Allard’s comparison of this situation to what’s going on in Syria to be misplaced aggression. No one that I am aware of is suggesting this is more important than what’s going on in Syria (or Turkey, for that matter.) However, this is an opportunity to educate the “humane” officer and his superiors that there is a strong animal rescue community in the area. A community that Mr. Accorti did not consult or even attempt to contact before sending the kittens to “kitty heaven” by excessive force.

  2. BETHESDA, MD—Alley Cat Allies, the nation’s largest advocacy group for cats, will present a petition with 30,000 signatures calling for an immediate end to all “euthanasia” of cats in North Ridgeville, at tonight’s city council meeting.

The petition to Mayor G. David Gillock calls for an immediate order halting the “euthanasia” of animals by Humane Officers in the city. It also calls on the mayor to meet with Alley Cat Allies to discuss more humane measures for cats, including community-supported humane alternatives, like Trap-Neuter-Return for feral cats.

“The people have spoken—the killing needs to stop now,” said Paul Berry, interim executive director of Alley Cat Allies, who will address the peaceful protestors at tonight’s meeting. “It is clear that North Ridgeville needs a new protocol for its humane officers, and Alley Cat Allies is here to offer guidance and help.”

Berry will personally present the petition to Mayor Gillock at today’s city council meeting.

On Friday, Becky Robinson, president of Alley Cat Allies, sent a letter to North Ridgeville Mayor G. David Gillock asking him to issue an order ending the killing of all cats by animal control officers, after a humane officer shot and killed five kittens in a resident’s backyard.

“These brutal killings were not “euthanasia”, not humane, nor were any public safety issues resolved. Officers should be educating residents about how to treat animals humanely and coexist peacefully, not shooting kittens in front of children,” Robinson wrote.

Alley Cat Allies is offering free training for the city’s humane officers on how to humanely handle cats, and on the state animal anti-cruelty law which clearly states that “no person shall knowingly torture, torment, needlessly mutilate or maim, cruelly beat, poison, needlessly kill, or commit an act of cruelty against a companion animal.”

  3. I have to agree with Sean here. This is a horribly failed attempt at sarcasm. At end, you’ve come off as a frustrated aspiring writer who’s desperate enough to make fun of kittens being shot. Unless you’re cool with kittens being shot, in which case there are bigger fish to fry here.

  4. I see the psychotic cat-lickers are at it again. LOL

The only thing these invasive-species cat-lickers are accomplishing is that millions more cats are being destroyed as fast as possible; feral, stray, pet, it matters not today! Not quite what they had hoped to accomplish, but at least they’re helping to finally put an end to the ecological and disease catastrophe that cat-lickers have caused and perpetuate worldwide.

Google for: Loews Hotels Feral Cats

Another replay of what these cat-licking sociopaths do, Google for: Cats Venice Complex Reprieve

A $150 million renovation project for low-income housing, put on hold, jobs lost, money lost, homeless still homeless court costs and lawyers, just to save a few of their feral vermin cRats. And the saddest part of all, the vast majority of these TNR’ed cats had already died heinous inhumane deaths from TNR-practitioners’ “death by attrition” mantra. (Road-kill, diseases, parasites, injuries, environmental poisons, cat & animal attacks, exposure, etc. etc. Their all-encompassing feel-good blinders-on term of “death by attrition”.)

Similar scenarios can be found by Googling for feral cats and churches, universities, hospitals, shopping centers, malls, apartment complexes, etc., etc. Cat-lickers delusionally believe that any land on which a cat has stepped-foot is their own property and they can manipulate and control the owners and all laws on it.

This is precisely why everyone is learning to destroy all cats on their properties as quickly and quietly as possible. Telling nobody beforehand about any cats even being there. Long before these psychotic cat-licker sociopaths and psychopaths get wind of the cats. Shoot cats first — tell no-one later. The only thing worse than feral cats are feral cat-lickers. You can legally shoot the former, not the latter. You need to pay lawyers and courts to get rid of the latter. THEN you can get rid of their cats. And the sad part is, that’s EXACTLY what happens, each and every time.

People are wising-up. If ANY cats are around they destroy every last one of them first, before they make any other move.

  5. After 15 years of trying to reason with criminally negligent cat-lickers, I learned my lesson (at the loss of nearly all the native wildlife on my lands that were tortured to death or starved to death by their invasive species vermin pestilent cats). You can’t train a cat to stay home; but I found that, in time; you CAN train a disrespectful, inconsiderate, and criminally irresponsible neighbor into being a responsible, considerate, and respectable adult. One who finally takes care of their animals like any responsible grown-up would.

Google for this complete string, as-is, including all quotes:

“Licensing and laws do nothing to curb the problem.” AND “I don’t see anyone dumping cats where I live anymore.” AND “irreversible consequences to”

Therein you’ll find a humane answer that works 100%, is affordable by any individual or size of community, and the cat problem is completely resolved PERMANENTLY in less than 2 seasons. Guaranteed.

People who let cats roam free only do so because they think their disease-ridden INVASIVE SPECIES cats are going to live idyllic lives chasing and torturing animals (valuable native species) or someone else will take care of their vermin cat for them. If they realize that that cat will die within hours or days from them having dumped it or letting it roam free, the dumping and free-roaming of cats stops 100%. They can’t just believe it MIGHT happen, they have to KNOW that IT WILL HAPPEN. It worked where I live.

Did I mention that you have to ignore every last thing these deranged invasive species lovers are spewing to the world? That’s the most important part. Asking them for advice and help to solve the problem that they created and are hellbent on perpetuating is just as foolish as asking your local career thieves for their advice and help to hide your valuables from their daily motives, goals, and activities.

If anyone is plagued by criminally irresponsible cat-lickers, following is a link describing some of the most effective methods that I invented to accomplish eradicating hundreds of these destructive vermin, by myself, on large tracts of land, in heavy brush and dense woods. The eradication so complete that I’ve not seen one cat in nearly FOUR years. All done in only a couple of seasons, all for less than the price of a couple cups of coffee. americanhunter.org/blogs/arkansas-will-trap-feral-cats

  6. I found a way to turn my home and lands into a 100% fatal cat-trap which I now share with everyone who has been plagued by moron cat-lickers. Using IR surveillance cameras and baiting trails of fish-oils along all the roadsides to a feeding dish within range of my laser-sighted rifle. This can totally clean-out ANY stray cats for miles around. VERY EFFECTIVE if you have idiot cat-licking problem-neighbors by you too.

You can now get VERY NICE IR surveillance cameras on ebay for only $15 [search ebay with the string: CCTV (IR, infra-red) — the 48 IR LED ones are best], and $15 rifle laser-sights as well. For only a $30 investment and the drained oils from tuna or sardine tins (or a bottle of fish-oil-fertilizer from your garden center) to make trails on all your roadsides, you can get rid of EVERY LAST ONE OF THEIR CATS in only a couple seasons!

Further Help: These cats are skittish as all get out. Illuminate your yard with red-floods dimmed low on dimmers (they also put out tons of IR illumination). Once you spot one of their vermin cRats on your surveillance monitor, turn off all your indoor lights, and then SLOWLY, VERY SLOWLY, open the door so as not to scare them out of your yard. The dimmed-low outdoor floods also helping to shield your presence from their view and provide enough light to help aim by. Use the laser-sight to aim for a precision chest-shot. They die in under 3 seconds, often less than 1 second, not even enough time to make a sound. This is FAR FAR FAR more humane than the days of terror and torment that even TNR advocates put their cats through (and then the slow INHUMANE “death by attrition” that they spew and embrace). Contrary to popular opinion, do not use a head-shot. I tried that once, it took much longer for it to die. I now suspect that cats survive more by their reptilian brain-stem than any unused gray-matter that might be above it (just like cat-lickers do). I now suspect this is the origin of their 9-lives myth.

Show support for this officer. Shoot AT LEAST one cat per day until these twisted cat-lickers get the hint. 🙂 That should start to put a dent in the problem that THEY created and are hellbent in perpetuating!

  7. I also found a perfectly 100% natural solution for those who don’t want to take more direct and more effective measures against free-roaming invasive species cats. Anyone who has criminally irresponsible cat-lickers in their area need only plant lilies on their properties. (Must be from the Lilium species, not just with “Lily” in the common name, see notes.) Cat-lickers always want their more responsible neighbors to grow plants around the perimeter of their properties that will repel their cats for them (from the cat-owners’ own criminally negligent and criminally irresponsible behaviors and values). Well now you can brighten up your yard AND repel cats naturally! — PERMANENTLY

(WARNING: If these plants are not native to your region don’t plant these if they cannot be contained, or risk introducing yet another potentially harmful invasive species!)

    Google for: lily toxicity cats

It has been reported that a cat even licking a little bit of Lily pollen from their fur will be fatal in short order. A cat even drinking some of the water in which a bunch of lilies has been kept is also fatal to them.

Everyone happy! You get to have the kinds of plants that you want, they get to have the kind of pets that they want — if they take care of it like any responsible grown-up would. Or are cat-lickers now going to demand that you can’t plant flowers on your own property? That would be their next and usual move, wouldn’t it.

A perfectly natural solution to an invasive species animal that didn’t evolve with Lilium species around. Plus it’s a good incentive plan for cat-lickers to finally educate themselves all about ecology, native species, and evolution. 🙂

Doing a little research on ASPCA’s toxic plants lists (Family: Liliaceae).

Lilies (Lilium species) that are deadly toxic to cats ONLY, in even small quantities (even the pollen will do):

    Common Name | Scientific Name

Asian Lily (Asiatic Lily) | Lilium asiatica

    Easter Lily | Lilium longiflorum

    Red Lily | Lilium umbellatum

Rubrum Lily ** | Lilium speciosum cultivar

Stargazer Lily ** | Lilium orientalis

Tiger Lily ** | Lilium tigrinum

    Wood Lily | Lilium umbellatum

    (not of the Lilium species)

Orange Day Lily | Hemerocallis graminea

    ( ** see notes below)

Lilies (Lilium species) that may be toxic to dogs if the dog ingests enough:

    NONE!

Be sure they are from the Liliacea Family, has “Lilium” on the plant label or are common N. American Day Lilies. Many plants with “Lily” in the common-name are not of the “Lilium” species, and are in fact toxic to other species of animals besides cats. Double check. On further investigation I also found out that all plant-parts, the blossoms and pollen being the most toxic, if harvested and dried (for year-round use) are just as deadly toxic to cats (if not more-so because of the unknown toxin being concentrated), and the drying makes them even more palatable to cats. What a great mulch for gardens! (Or a ground-up additive for a special outdoor can of tuna.)

** There have been some anecdotal reports of some free-roaming cats that have spent many years around some of these particular species of plants and still survived. So it is best to harvest, dry, and grind-up the plants and mix them into any appropriate bait-foods to be most effective.

  8. Two thoughts here:
    1. We have an anti-cruelty law for animals, yet killing unborn human beings is a-okay.
    2. We have a law banning cruelty to animals, yet cruelty to animals still happens. But we should pass laws banning guns because that will obviously stop gun violence.
