TJ Lane was sentenced to three life sentences without parole, plus 17 years, for the Chardon shooting in February, 2012.
In the courtroom, Lane was wearing a white t-shirt with “KILLER” written in black marker across the chest. He was smirking through the duration of the proceedings and appeared to be fending off giggles as the family members of his victims made testimonials.
In general, he seemed delighted by the prospect of his notoriety and bored by the havoc he wreaked. Lane was bopping his head, rolling his eyes, and openly smiling through much of the judge’s sentencing.
“You’re evil,” said the mother of one of the three boys killed in Lane’s rampage. “Because of you our quiet little town will never be the same again.”
The judge denied that Lane was ever mentally unstable or incompetent during the time of the incident. He said that Lane acted alone and has demonstrated and utter lack of remorse.
During his own statement, which his counsel advised against, Lane gave the courtroom the middle finger:
“This hand that pulled the trigger that killed your sons now masturbates to the memory. Fuck all of you,” Lane said.

This kid has to be mentally ill. Who in their right mind would do what he did and then come into court with that t-shirt and act the way he did. He is very sick.
They should atleast put him in regular prison or general population to suffer wile other inmates give him the finger thand not on there hand.

cbrbart I am not disagreeing with his sentencing at all, but read the previous comments about him. We are no better with our thoughts then he is. We are mentally committing the same crimes as he is with comments that are wishing him dead. Unfortunately he went that next step and actually did what he was thinking; but the fact that we have the same mindset is where the problem is. At the same time I understand why the families would feel this way but to those who are not immediately involved, take TJ Lane as an example of you what you could turn into when pushed to the edge. Get rid of that hatred, it will never rest and will end up devouring you whole.

see, any of us “pushed to the edge” would never do something even remotely close to what that dirtbag did. Instead of saying all these mean things about him why not pray that he gets saved and changes his life so that he can while he spends the rest of his life in prison on our tax dollars just maybe he can do good for someone else.
