Despite one Denver news station jumping the gun this morning, the Republican National Committee selected Cleveland and Dallas as the two finalists for the 2016 convention location. The news came as a bit of a surprise this afternoon, countering campaign “scuttlebutt,” as the PD‘s Henry Gomez relayed.

Regardless, the news is awesome for Cleveland, whose leaders and residents have been jonesin’ for the big-bucks infusion of events like the RNC. The county is even building its own Hilton hotel for this sort of stuff! And we have the Rock Hall!

Pundits now are debating the implications of The David Blatt Effect and how such a thing might be leveraged for future political convention announcements.

  1. I believe the term is jumping the gun. Jumping the shark is for when a popular TV show runs out of ideas and starts producing garbage.

  2. Steven — Ah, too true. Fixed. Shouldn’t be watching Lost reruns while I write, anyway.

  3. OOPS! Eric. you have the wrong RNC symbol next to your article. The current symbol features the 5 point star facing POINT DOWN opposite the American flag stars, opposite this old RNC symbol, but in alignment with satanic symbolism. Don’t believe me, look it up.
