Cleveland Garlic Fest Turns 10 This Summer, Still Worth the Bad Breath

After eating a bulb’s worth of garlic, your breath turns rank and your skin reeks. But it’s completely worth downing a bunch of garlic-laced food at the 10th annual Cleveland Garlic Festival, running Sat, Aug. 24-Sun, Aug. 25 at Shaker Square — especially if the person you like to get closest with also imbibes — because it tastes damn good.

The festival’s promoters are well aware of the hurdle getting some folks out to the stinking rose event  — the festival’s Facebook page even says:”Our headliner stinks, but the bands are great.”

A fundraiser for the North Union Farmers’ Markets, the festival peddles not just top chef grill offs and countless garlic-growing vendors, but also live local music, alcohol, cheese, a kid’s zone and even a Miss Garlic showdown.
