Joining the likes of Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Cleveland has called for residents to eat more healthful meals and, specifically, avoid meat on Mondays. This was actually done via City Council resolution.

Alliteration does tend to help social movements, this one being focused on “going green” and raising national awareness of animal protection rights, according to the Humane Society of the U.S. Experts also claim that “Meatless Monday” will provide your annoying coworkers with yet another self-righteous talking point when debating lunch options.

To make things easier, here are a bunch of terrific vegan eats from around town.

  1. love how keen city council is to support this modest step – its a big enviro issue with energy use, emissions and water scarcity and biodiversity loss from all feed crops n deforestation for meat production! not to mention factory farm manure runoff contributing to algae blooms and aquatic deadzones which Ohioans have to look at seriously with our Northcoast in trouble. great veg foods diversify diets all over the planet its time every1 found out why its sucha tasty healthy way to support ag progress!
