The Cleveland Museum of Art has just announced the line-up for the fifth annual Summer Solstice concert, which takes place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Because the museum’s atrium is now completed (last year, it was still under construction), one of the concert’s two stages will be indoors. The “atrium stage” will be devoted to DJs and feature DJ Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Rekha and Beatmatrix. The outdoor stage on the museum’s south terrace will feature an eclectic group of world beat/electronic dance acts, including Colombian harp master Edmar Castaneda, Brooklyn’s North Indian bhangra beat act Red Baraat, the soul/jazz/hip-hop act Burnt Sugar Arkestra and the avant-pop act The Crystal Ark. The 8 p.m. entry tickets cost $60 per person, $30 for museum members. A limited number of 10:30 p.m. entry tickets are on sale, too. They cost $25. You can upgrade to an all-inclusive food and beverage ticket for an extra $50.

  1. I’m not quite sure what the person on the left is doing in that photo…..and I don’t really want to know either.

  2. Can’t wait to see the Godfather of hip hop. Is Afrika Bambaataa really going to be there? Always wanted to see him. He’s in the Rock Hall too.
