Frontier Airlines — the “poor man’s” airline that slinked into Cleveland Hopkins earlier this year to fill the gaping hole left by United — is offering dirt cheap flights to cities like New York! Chicago! and Washington D.C.!

Today only, thrifty travelers can score one way tickets to select locations for $19, and round-trip tickets for just $38.

The promotion includes flights to New York’s LaGuardia airport beginning Oct. 26 and ending mid Dec. and flights to Washington Dulles and Chicago O’Hare begin Oct. 1 and also ending mid December.

(It’s worth noting that when Scene hopped on to try to score some sweet seats to Chi Town, we noticed that tons of dates are already booked up and all weekend flights are unavailable – boo).

Anyway, there are still deals to be had at Frontier.com. Take a look-see for yourself.

  1. They are also going to charge you at least $25 each way for your CARRY ON bag. Also, that gaping hole that United left, they are still the largest carrier at the airport by far and they still serve all cities listed in the article. The media act like United pulled up stakes and completely left. They still have about 70 flights a day.

  2. It’s just like Spirit Airlines, if you play the game correctly, you can do it very cheaply. You can carry on personal bag (so a purse or a laptop) and just check your other bag for $15 if you check-in online before you go to the airport. Wife and I just combine luggage and travel nice and light through the gate, its kind of a pleasure.

  3. Every airline charges at least $25 per bag one-way except for Southwest, so getting a $19 flight if the dates work for you is pretty sweet. If you don’t want to pay to check a bag, don’t check one.

  4. Who flies on a fucking weekday? Eh, it’s Cleveland. They scam everyone for everything. Just like those traffic cameras. When will Ohio ever be legit?

  5. @BrianWison. Not every airline charges for both checked and carry on bags. Frontier does. If it doesn’t fit under the seat in front of you, they charge.

  6. I don’t see any $19 dollar flights on their site… is it only certain routes? I don’t get it.

  7. Got tickets yesterday. We always fly frontier. Round trip for $76!!! And I have never had to pay for a carry on, just checked bag. They also give a free drink and cookie. Never had any issues.
