Last month when Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland announced he’d be revisiting the first two STP albums on a solo tour, his STP bandmates issued a statement saying that he had been “terminated” from the band. Weiland, for his part, has maintained that he’s still a member of the band. But given his erratic performance last night at House of Blues, perhaps the STP guys made the right decision. Weiland, who has struggled with drug addiction issues in the past, stumbled and mumbled his way through a sloppy two-hour set that only really came together at the very end.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.

  1. I was there, what a total waste of time and money. It was embarassing to watch him perform so poorly!

  2. Extremely disappointed! His performance did not sound clean(literally). Yes, I’ve seen him a dozen times & 1/2 of them was when he was not clean, yet he was still good! This time it seemed like he was just going thru the motion of performing. Just a total waste of $ & just embarrassing for him & I’d imagine his fellow Clevelander fiancée. Hope her family wasn’t there!

  3. I was at the Dallas show, hour or more late, and the show sucked. I would rather hear the rest of the band with a different lead singer, then see Scott again with a cover band. Extremely disappointed.
