More than seven months after Tanisha Anderson died in police custody, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that it will begin an investigation into the Nov. 13, 2014, incident.

Her death was ruled a homicide by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office in January.

Detective Scott Aldridge, a seven-year veteran of the force, and his partner, Brian Meyers — the two officers involved in the call on that day — remain under internal investigation by the Division of Police.

  1. What is the possible excuse for it taking this long to begin an investigation?
