The 11th District Court of Appeals has denied an appeal by TJ Lane, whose lawyers argued that their client should not have been sentenced to life without parole — three consecutive life sentences — because he was a juvenile at the time of the Chardon High School shooting.
Lane shot and killed three students and injured two others in February, 2012.
Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice was unmoved by oral arguments on behalf of Lane in March.
“Appellant did not act on impulse, on provocation, or under pressure from peers or adults,” today’s ruling read. “To the contrary, he planned this attack weeks in advance before he went to school that day with a loaded gun. He shot three young students to death. He shot another student several times, confining him to a wheelchair and subjecting him to a life of pain and disability. Appellant also brought indescribable pain, grief, and lifelong tragedy to the victims’ families.”
Barring escape or death, Lane will be in prison for life.

Good. That’s where he belongs.
I have no doubt if he was released that he would do the same thing again. He showed no remorse for what he did and all the pain he caused the families and the community, not to mention the fear he has put on all of us as parents as we send our children and grandchildren off to school everyday. I don’t believe in prison for life tho i think they should be executed . The victims were not given their life..he down right executed them.
Let him spend the rest if his days in prison. He deserves nothing less.
Good. I’m glad the little **** will stay in prison.
Its sick that he is smiling.
This is the outcome I expected and hoped for. I’m glad this scumbag is rotting
I don’t believe in the death penalty first off. In his case, it would be the easy way out. He deserves to rot in jail. He’ll have plenty of time to think about the children he killed and injured as well as the families which he turned to, said what he did and then flipped them off.
Why should our tax paying dollars go towards keeping him locked up… I firmly believe in an eye for an eye… He ought to get death by firing squad
Forget him. He’s done. Too bad someone hasn’t inflicted the physical pain on him like he has on others. We can only hope he lives a long, lonely life where he’s at even though we have to support him.
It still irritates me that the stolen .22. cal target pistol this punk used was the same make and model as one of mine.
We know he’s not enjoying his jail time, though. They made the mistake of assigning him to a minimum security facility where he and another con decided to escape. He was picked up a few hours later hiding in a farm shed about 100 feet outside the fence. He may never see that much freedom again for the rest of his miserable life.
