Creep of The Week: Cop is “Friends” With 14-year-old Boy

Once upon a time, people told their children that if they were lost, in a fix, or needed help of any kind the best and safest thing to do was to approach a policeman. Yeah, well scrap that.

A Richmond Heights mom has certainly abandoned that idea after waking up at about 4 a.m. Monday to find a naked man in her house—a naked man she did not know. She did the prudent thing and called the cops to tell them there was a naked man in her house.

When police arrived they found the naked man, 35-year-old Matthew Mole, who is apparently a “special friend” of the woman’s son, age 14.

Police also found that Matthew Mole Is a Waite Hill police officer. He has been charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, is out on bond, and has been put on administrative leave from the Waite Hill Police Department.

Outside of this little infraction, Waite Hill says Mole is a pretty good guy!

According to Newsnet 5:

Waite Hill Police Chief Arnold Stanko would not answer questions about the investigation, but said Mole has no citizen complaints against him. Stanko said the officer was disciplined about a year ago for violating department policies and procedures.
“Not reporting when he left his zone,” Stanko said. “Didn’t let the dispatcher know.”

“He’s family,” said Stanko. “And that’s tough, and this is not good for law enforcement. But that’s the criminal side of it and, you know, they’ll deal with that.”

Oh, he’s family. OK then. That changes things.
