[image-1]More than 8,000 LP vinyl records (and more than 80,000 books) will be on sale this weekend as Cleveland State University hosts its annual Book Sale in Adelbert Gym.

Donated by a private collector, the vinyl collection includes classical, comedy, country, folk, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll and more. A used bookstore that recently closed has donated 5,000 books. A special donation of books on ancient Rome and Greece comes courtesy of a retired Case Western Reserve art historian, and the Cleveland Museum of Art donated a wide variety of art books and exhibition catalogs from its library.

There also will be a “booktique” table that will showcase rare and signed first-editions. For a $20 admission fee, early-bird shoppers can browse and buy from 10 a.m. to noon today, before the admission-free public event begins at noon. The sale continues tomorrow from noon to 5 p.m., Monday from noon to 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., when books are $5 per box.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.
