We have a lot of questions for Dan Gilbert, but right now our main concern is why he joined the Chicago Cubs’ visit to the White House today.

During a photo op/press conference-type event typical for championship-winning teams, the 2016 Cubs found JACK Entertainment CEO and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert in their midst. President Donald Trump even called out for him by name amid a flurry of shutter snaps.

“Where’s Dan? Where’s Dan Gilbert?” Trump asked multiple times before pointing at the Detroit-based billionaire and beckoning him closer. “Do you want a good baseball player to play basketball?” he said, gesturing to the team that beat your friends and mine, the Cleveland Indians, in a hard-fought seven-game series last fall.

Trump then described the Cavs’ season as “good … not great.”

  1. You see folks? There is no conservative, no liberal and no loyalty at the top the money and power heap. They all stick together and yuk it up up there. So keep shoveling that guy your gambling money to help him rebuild downtown Detroit, that’s just great.

  2. Cubs made a deal with the Devil in order to get those rings, and this visit was a part of the deal.

Now they’re on their way to mediocrity, and back to sucking eventually. That, too, was part of the deal. It was strictly a one-year-deal. They’re toast now. Won’t win 90 games this year. Maybe not even 85. It’s Tribe Time now. Get ready to party.

Cavs are going to go down the same bad road in a few more years. LBJ is getting old, and wants to finish in SoCal. So let Gilbert yuck it up and pose with Twitler, while he’s still top of the heap. Birds of a feather, and all that.

Cubs, Cavs, Trump…all heading for Loserville.

Bummed about the first two…can’t wait to see the third. It can’t happen soon enough.
