One of the sweetest joints in town to check out some live blues is The Parkview Nite Club in Detroit Shoreway. But there’s so much more to take in here than the tunes. We dig the Parkview as much for the grub as we do the grooves.

In addition to the rightly famous chipotle pork taco, the low-and-slow pulled pork and the Friday-only BBQ ribs is a hidden treasure of a burger. The Hullett burger — named after the massive ore unloaders at the docks — is a must-try affair. Offered both at lunch and dinner, the half-pound beef patty is char-broiled to temp, smothered with melted provolone, and topped with grilled ham and salami. Nestled into a hamburger bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, 1,000 Island dressing, and mayo, this burger is as good as it gets.

Do yourself a favor and upgrade to the giant housemade onion rings. At just $8, the Hullett is a tasty diversion from the ubiquitous $12 gastropub burgers popping up all over town.
