Where Lock 3 park in downtown Akron leads, we will follow. Or at least fans of the beloved TV show Gilmore Girls are sure to as the open air space is turning into Stars Hollow come Sunday, Nov. 18.

Touted as Gilmore Girls Day, the park is set to feel just like the fictional Connecticut small town inhabited by the caffeine-guzzling, take-out-eating mother/daughter team Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, complete with a barbershop quartet and town troubadour.

The Lock Next cafe will also get the Luke’s Diner treatment, serving up loads and loads of coffee as well as popcorn.

Three episodes of the show are scheduled to screen, while fans can test their trivia knowledge in between showings.

Unsurprisingly, event coordinators are setting up a voting booth for folks to distinguish themselves as fans of one of Rory’s boyfriends. Yes, you’ll have to decide if you’re Team Dean, Team Jess or Team Logan. (You know which one is correct, so choose wisely.)

  1. “Hallow” means “to make holy”, to consecrate, revere or respect. As in “Arlington National Cemetery is hallowed ground to patriotic Americans.” I doubt if you meant that Lock 3 Park is Stars’ Hallow…holy and consecrated ground? Merely for a bunch of TV characters and their fan base? You probably meant “Hollow”—because that’s what Lock 3 Park is.
