If holiday cheer and/or free things to do with your family are your thing you might want to mark down Saturday,  Nov. 25 on your calendar, for that is the day downtown Cleveland will be blessed with the lighting of the Public Square Christmas tree and you can maybe forget about all the impending drama and crushing financial obligations of the season for an hour or two.

It’s all part of the day’s Winterfest, which will also include free ice skating and general family merriment from 1 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. The lighting is scheduled from 6 to 7:15 p.m. More information can be found here.

  1. If “Bigass Christmas Tree” isn’t the official name of our downtown Christmas tree, I motion that it should be.
