Ed Fitzgerald has quite the task on his hands: change the whole culture of government in Cuyahoga County, one that was beset with rampant corruption and sleezery.

He’s already made certain steps toward that goal and will make another one (or many) tomorrow.

A press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. where Fitzgerald will announce personnel changes at the Auditor’s office, and specifically the Board of Revision.

Here’s the relevant part of the press release:

The announcement will involve terminations and related personnel actions of broad scope.

“The County Auditor was the home office for corruption and illegal activity on a grand scale that our community had to suffer through over the last two years. Not anymore,” said Executive-elect Fitzgerald.

Acting Auditor David Reines will join Fitzgerald.

Vince Grzegorek has been with Scene since 2007 and editor-in-chief since 2012. He previously worked at Discount Drug Mart and Texas Roadhouse.

  1. Scene needs to investigate Plymouth Park Tax Service and selective tax lien sales and reappraisals of properties sold to Plymouth Park.

  2. Please dont put your trust in Scene magazine to follow up on a legitamite lead. They are too busy chasing after possibilities and fairy tales. If you have something that really needs to be checked into take it to Channel’s 3, 5 or 8 you would have a better chance of something happening.
