Despite not taking home the championship this year, LeBron James is still the NBA’s most talented player, ESPN concluded last night — when the media company named King James the Best NBA Player at its ESPY Awards. This is the fifth time James has won the award, bringing his ESPY total to 14.

James won over competition like 2017 NBA MVP Kevin Durant and also Russel Westbrook, and Kawhi Leonard, yet he was not present to receive it, Cleveland.com reports.

This past season was potentially LeBron’s best, averaging 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists while shooting, NBA.com reported. It’s also worth mentioning James is the first NBA player to play in seven straight NBA Finals since the 1960s, beating Michael Jordan’s total accumulated points of 5,987 points with his own, 6,163 points.

Elsewhere during the ESPYs, Durant won for Best Championship performance and Westbrook took home Best Male Athlete.

  1. Lebron James has been the best NBA player for more than a decade. The NBA ignored stats than would have given him many more titles because they were trying to keep the league competitive; well that work out well! Durant chose the Warriors because he wanted to beat Lebron and that was the only way he can do it (without Durant, no question, the Warriors would have lost). The ESPY’S got it right; they based their decision on the stats that the , conveniently NBA overlooks so they don’t have to admit he’s been the “BEST ALL AROUND PLAYER TO EVER PLAY BASKETBALL, PERIOD”! If the Cavs get Wade and Melo, they will beat the Warriors…and the NBA will be competjtive when Lebron again…only between 2 teams until Lebron decides hang it up…. ONE LAST “TRUTH” if Durant went to the Cavs, the Warriors wouldn’t have won a game in the finals, STOP DRINKING THE HATORADE AND GET OVER IT! The Chosen is alive, well and ready to put the DIRTY WARRIOR’S WHERE THEY BELONG…SECOND…
