[image-1]City Councilman Zack Reed is leading the push to make Cleveland a more LGBTQ-friendly city — he hopes that any facilities built in the future include gender-neutral bathrooms.

For now, he says the change is already underway, with gender-neutral bathrooms in the works at Voinovich Park as part of the new construction bringing mixed-use retail and dining to the area.

“My hope is that the City of Cleveland will begin to install unisex public bathrooms therefore ensuring that all Clevelanders feel welcome and to avoid the controversy in other states like North Carolina,” he said prior to last night’s council meeting.

“I got to believe that the mayor’s going to sign it and this moves us in the best direction toward showing we are an inclusive city,” Reed told WEWS.
