Joe Cimperman’s proposed outdoor smoking ban is ludicrous on a couple of levels, but the rancor coming from “City Hall higher-ups” doesn’t have anything to do with the most logical and fundamental problems of the prohibition. They are simply upset they won’t be able to smoke a cigar on the golf course.

Via the PD:

In the name of cigars and profits, Cleveland City Councilman Jeff Johnson wants to exempt Highland Park Golf Course from a proposed ban on smoking in city parks and recreation areas.

Johnson neither golfs nor smokes, but he said he has heard complaints from golfers, including a few unnamed City Hall higher-ups, who are unhappy that the proposed ban would prevent them from smoking a cigar during a round at the city-owned course in Highland Hills.
