Here’s Browns’ owner Jimmy Haslam’s letter to season ticket holders, published on WFNY this morning:
All that gratitude and reassurance goes a long way, Jimmy, so thanks for taking the time. We’re delighted that you think the vacancy is so attractive. I mean it’s almost endearing that you maintain that view when just about every sports media outlet staffed by people-or-things-that-are-sentient regard Cleveland as the least- or second-least desirable job on the market.
And thanks for rubbing in the fact that we had more Pro-Bowlers last year than victories! Sweet!
ESPN’s Adam Schefter, for his part, seems to think the Browns’ position is A-OK:
For as much as some are questioning them, Browns in a great spot: last to hire, can wait for coaches or hire anyone else. Good position.

At any rate, Haslam’s feeling heat; and a letter urging fans to recognize how “methodical” and “disciplined” they’re being has the opposite effect.

Jimmy Haslam has a toy that prints money……too bad that the suffering Cleveland sports fans have to clutch onto the Three Stooges’ Wagon and hope for the best — while knowing that the vehicle is headed off a cliff.
Meanwhile, people thought Haslem coming was great, pretty much like every coaching and front office move that is made (like getting Holmgren sounded genius) and then hypocritically get pissed off when the moves don’t work.
