The disturbing video below shows a Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis hitting a man in Public Square Sunday and driving away. The 27-year-old victim was taken to Metro and later released, which is absolutely shocking considering how violent the impact seems from the clip.

I think it’s absolutely terrible that the driver didn’t stop… BUT the pedestrian absolutely was jaywalking and not paying attention. The car had a green light. Driving downtown everyday I can’t tell you how many times people just dart out across the street ignorant of the traffic lights, especially across Ontario, since the casino has opened. There needs to be accountability on both ends.
Are you joking? The driver had ample time to slow down, move over, or you know NOT RUN OVER A HUMAN BEING. Who by the way was in the cross walk not willy nilly in the street. Besides technically and legally the pedstrian has the right of way. Furthermore if a child were to run out in the street after a ball and the driver made no such effort to avoid said child do you blame the child? When you are driving on side streets and squirrels run out do you not tap the breaks, or try the avoid them; the same being said for deer? It’s just instinctual that you swerve or break when there is a life in the road in front of you; not go barrelling towards it full speed ahead and then not even stop once contact has been blatantly made. How callous are you?
