
You know this young fella? Mentor police are looking for him, and not because his Blue Steel look has them thinking he has a future in modeling.
No, he (probably) stole an iPod Touch at Great Lakes Mall and subsequently used the gizmo to take a picture of himself, which was then uploaded to the victim’s account via Cloud.
Tsk. Tsk. Hat tip to the fine actiony folks over at 19 Action News for the pic.

Not the smartest criminal in the world. At least he didn’t post to her Facebook page with location tracking enabled, or check into his home so he could be the “mayor”
The Mentor Police Dept. shared this pic and the thief has been commenting on the picture. He changed his name to LA Ofwgkta on Facebook, but the police can find out the original name on the account and the IP address. He’s a 14-15 year old kid, and very stupid. He’s trash that won’t amount to anything at all.
My understanding is, if you photo yourself with a smartphone, the GPS coordinates of the place you were in in that photo are encrypted in that photo, and law enforcement can read it.
It is tragic that any 14 year old is tech-savvy enough to use facebook and to operate a smartphone but is not savvy enough to apply himself to a career other than crime.
