This video from a concerned and eagle-eyed Akron resident captures a snow plow driver who, according to the resident interviewed by the ABJ and mustache aficionado Bob Dyer, is on his fourth trip down the street.

The problem?

There’s no snow. The blade is instead blissfully and noisily scraping along on the cement.

The hell?

Dyer checked in with Akron Service Director John Moore to see if he could shed some light on the ambitious but, ya know, stupid/wasteful/very stupid plow brigade.

Moore had, uh, some answers.

“To be perfectly honest,” he said after the driver met with city officials Wednesday afternoon, “we don’t know what the hell he was doing. He does not have any excuse.”

The lowered blade clearly was not an oversight.

“I can tell you this: Having ridden in those trucks, when the plow is down, you definitely know it’s down.”

Moore said the driver “probably” would face disciplinary action but wouldn’t say for certain before talking with him. “Obviously, we’ve got to make some adjustments there.”

  1. If anything it’s chewing up the street, and he has no explanation??
Here…Take this wooden spoon and wap him in the forehead….

  2. I was trying to envision what a snow plow looked like plowing a street with no snow but I’m not very imaginative so my brain just melted out of my ears and I gave up.

I find the addition of video really takes this story to a whole new level.

    Thank you, Akron resident!
