According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, this free fishing weekend is open to all Ohio residents and includes public waters such as, Lake Erie and the Ohio River. Typically, if you’re 16-years-old or older, you need to possess a fishing license, but for this weekend only you don’t need to have one to fish.
In 2017, The ODNR Division of Wildlife stocked more than 66 million sport fish in Ohio’s public waters. Anglers are going to have the opportunity to catch walleye, catfish, steelhead, rainbow trout, muskellunge and more.
Ohio State Parks are also offering a discount on camping this weekend to go along with the free fishing event.
