Most of you, for better or worse, will be able to read this little news item.

The fairly esteemed Central Connecticut State University recently had the good fortune to spell out “Cleveland, OH” on its rankings of the U.S.’s most literate cities. We clock in at 14th, behind such reading meccas as Seattle, Denver, Boston and plenty of other, lesser towns.

We earned spot No. 13 last year, so, at least according to CCSU’s metrics, we’re slightly lagging.

Take a cue from this renowned I-90 landmark and “Read More Books!!!”:

  1. Absolutely, Cuyahoga County Library is wonderful. I’ve lived all over the country and world, we have a GREAT Library system, including the Cleveland Public one. Yeah! Now we need to pass on the importance of reading on to the next generation. They need literature, not just websites and texts:)

  2. Yeah CBR, the public library downtown is awesome. Ive never looked at the books, but the building is super-old and has all these secret corridors and passages. Its a great place to play hide-and seek. Wouldn’t be surprised though, if there were a couple homeless dudes living somewhere in the mazes like Joe Pesci in that movie, With Honors. Just sayin.

  3. everyone seems to forget just how important libraries are to the communities they’re in. not everything is online, you know
