Ted Williams, the man with the golden ability to sell a load of bullshit, has a new autobiography out this week. As the Columbus Dispatch points out in its review, the tome conveniently omits the post-viral-video phase of Williams’ life, a span that was ripe with relapses and alcohol and lost jobs.

Anyway, coinciding with the release and the media rounds is a new service on the former homeless man with the golden voice’s website: he’ll record your voicemail message for $15.

He has some suggested scripts ready to go. For instance:

Voicemail 3

“Hi, this is Ted Williams, the Golden Voice. You’ve reached [Name] but they can’t come to the phone right now. Please leave your name and number after the beep.”

Creative. He’s also taking requests, so if you need a personalized message, something with a little more pizazz, he can make that happen. Thinking something like.. “Hi, this is Ted Williams. No one uses voicemail anymore, so how perfect is this?”

  1. He knows he can do better (if he is clean) but he has to start somewhere. At least he is trying to do something, and not looking for a handout.

Remember most people WANT a 2nd chance at a 2nd chance, but won’t even CONSIDER doing the same for the next person. I’m just saying …

  2. For this Blogger to call what Ted is doing is BULLSHIT is just plan HATIN’ He probably wants Ted to FAIL so he can write MORE BULLSHIT!! Sigh sad thing is this is this Bloggers opinion! But it doesn’t mean I or others have to aggree with it

  3. Our society is short on alot of things, but there is no shortage of bleeding heart saps who are easily flim-flammed by frauds such as Ted Williams. From the very start I could detect that he was not sincere in his supposed desire for a second and third chance at success and dignity. He made a fool out of everyone whose attention and sympathy he garnered. He needs to keep in mind the age old saying that God helps those who help themselves.
