About 60 homeless men have moved into the North Point Inn on Superior Avenue. The city’s new male-only shelter will serve as a transition house for guys who are on their way to working full-time. The renovated shelter will house two men per room, better than the 100 to room mess at 2100, the Lakeside Avenue shelter.
But while bums were singing, boobs stopped swinging. The city forced Stage2, a strip joint attached to the building, to close down despite the club’s long lease of the space. “We didn’t want any misuse of the building,” says city spokeswoman Andrea Taylor.
The forced closure happened after Stage2 rejected the city’s offers to relocate the club. Unfortunately, the move killed Cleveland’s chance to house what would have been the most popular homeless shelter in America…
