Hot in Cleveland: CMSD Closes 18 Schools Tuesday Due to High Temperatures

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District has announced that it's closing 18 schools Tuesday due to forecasts of extremely high temperatures. The high is expected to eclipse 90 degrees, as it did Monday, with humidity making it feel considerably hotter.

The following schools are closed: Ben Franklin, Charles Eliot, Charles Mooney, Collinwood, East Clark, Facing History New Tech, Garrett Morgan, Iowa Maple, Louis Agassiz, Michael R. White, New Tech West, Newton D. Baker, O.H. Perry, Sunbeam, Tremont, Valley View Boys Leadership Academy, Whitney Young and Willow.

The decision to close came after students at five district schools were let out early Monday due to the heat. Those schools were Valley View Boys Leadership, Iowa Maple, Newton D. Baker, Sunbeam and Tremont.
