To dispel Ohio’s apparently boring appearance, the Huffington Post released a list titled “24 Reasons You Should Stop Underestimating Ohio” earlier this month.

Take that, all you other uncool states.

A couple of questionable choices dot the list, like Lake Erie, because well, that’s kind of not just an Ohio thing. The Ohio River? Yes, it has our state’s name, but again, we like to share.

Otherwise, these 24 reasons include some real standouts like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cedar Point, Amish Country and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Anyway, we’ll take it, especially if it means an increase in tourist dollars.

  1. Lake Erie is more significant to Ohio than it is to Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, or Ontario. It definitely makes sense.

  2. Greater Cleveland Area Expands Role of being the International Center of the Environmental Arts Movement as a ‘Cultural Industry’, to foster civic identity, cultivate jobs and tourism, and brand Ohio Environmental Arts and Culture District in the Bioregion”

Geographically, the region occupies the same area as the Greater Cleveland Area where it is centered and where most of the companies are located. It is in the northeastern part of Ohio, an area stretching from the south end to Akron-Canton, Lorain in the west and Youngstown in the east.

It is visualized as the home for many of the world’s largest technology corporations, as well as thousands of small start ups working on a sustainable future. Looking at our over populated society in which Sustainability has become a necessity against Ecocide, the crucial role of Iceality in the Environmental Arts and Design Revolution becomes even more evident.

This also makes Iceality a philosophy meaning that there is hope for Humanity after all, and that improvements in our Society can take place daily. The Global Home of the Environmental Art Movement is the region in Northern Ohio that is noted for its growing concentration of Sustainable Design and Technology Industries that can transform it from the rust belt to a place where, “Economics and Culture, combined with leading edge technology and thriving entrepreneurship, financial investors and pioneering organizational styles, provide the background for the most profound inquiry ever into the Nature of Peace that will affect our planet’s very evolution for centuries to come.”

They would like to convey the image of ICEALITY as the nucleus of the modern sustainable agenda for saving our Planet, presenting the most important developments of major elements which comprise the future which is the relationship between Humans and their Environment through Design and Culture, ultimately promoting an effective sustainable global Culture of Peace between all Living Things in the Human, Plant and Animal Kingdoms.

  3. i didn’t know huffington post existed. given their bias though, we’d be better off without their propaganda

  4. A decent list, except for the Donato’s part. Cleveland’s restaurant scene is among the best in the nation and they are telling people to order chain pizza.

  5. Yeah, I thought so…wazzup with that?

I asked my wife about that…and she said Donato’s is a chain. In 22 years of living here, we have never wanted one.

Independently-owned pizza places all over the place…good ones…in Little Italy and elsewhere…and that’s the best they could find?

Whoever snarfed up a Donato’s and added it to that list must come from the home of really, really terrible pizza…like maybe tomato sauce on Rye-Krisp…Texas, maybe?
