At around 1:15 a.m. Dec. 29 in the parking lot of the Kent Police Department, someone threw an actual Molotov cocktail beneath the chassis of a police cruiser. No one was hurt, though the underside of the car was “charred.”

The explosion was caught on video, and glass, lighter fluid and Styrofoam were found at the scene.

“Obviously, someone targeted the police car. I don’t think it was some random thing, so it’s alarming to us,” Kent Police Lt. James Prusha told Fox 8. “We, of course, are going to be more careful.” No suspects have been identified yet.
