According to the Cleveland Division of Police, the city prosecutor decided not to file charges against Salazar, who had been investigated for a sexual assault case (detailed below) and who had become the day’s most notable local media focal point.

Cleveland Indians pitcher Danny Salazar is presently being investigated by police in connection with a reported rape, which allegedly took place in the early hours of Jan. 23 at the Hustler Club in the Flats.
No charges have been filed.
Little else is known publicly about the incident. News reports swirled this morning; Scene confirmed the reports based on police information this afternoon.
Indians GM Chris Antonetti issued the following statement: “We are aware of an investigation involving Danny. Since this potentially could become a legal matter, we won’t have any additional comment at this time.”
