Thirty students at Cleveland Heights High School were quite surprised by a guest visitor this morning. Jennifer Lawrence, freshly nominated for a Razzie Award for her work in Mother!, arrived in government teacher Justin Hons’ classroom to discuss politics and democracy at a grassroots level.

The appearance was a part of Lawrence’s collaboration with Represent.Us, a non-partisan campaign that works to eliminate corruption, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District reported.

  1. What does Jennifer Lawrence know about politics? She didn’t even go to college for anything, let alone politics. People think it’s just something anyone can understand, but it isn’t. It’s like saying, “I know the law.” Why would I listen to anyone like her?

  2. College provides the student access to many sources of information and a vehicle to absorb, but it doesn’t make the student any more or less smart. Intelligence is innate, and though Jennifer Lawrence may not have pursued a Poly-Sci degree does not make her any less intelligent. You should be excited that she is using her noteriaity for a greater good, and ot to sell jewelry or makeup on a remote cable channel.

  3. Jennifer Lawrence is using her notoriety to spread the message that young people need to be involved in politics. I think it is commendable, in contrast to the Kardashians who do nothing but look in the mirror at themselves all day, take selfies and plan their next plastic surgery. Jennifer has a brain and is using it!
