Comedian Jerry Seinfeld became an overnight sensation in the ’90s thanks to the popularity of his TV show that was literally about “nothing.”

In the wake of the sitcom’s success, Seinfeld has returned to his first love, stand-up comedy. He regularly comes to Cleveland, and we’re told that every one of his Playhouse Square appearances over the past 23 years has sold out. There’s no reason to expect his next appearance, slated for July 15 at the State Theatre, will be any different.

Tickets for that show go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at playhousesquare.org, 216-241-6000 and the Ticket Office. Prices will be $50, $67.50, $85 and $150 (for the first 12 rows).

  1. And then after you try and don’t succeed on buying them on the Playhouse Square websites, tickets will be $200, $400, $700 & $3000 on Stubhub. 🙁

  2. I don’t know why you say Jerry Seinfeld was an “overnight sensation” in the 1990’s. He very gradually became one of the best known comics all through the 1980’s, before the sitcom. And the sitcom itself took a few seasons before it started to get really strong ratings.
