Is it getting better out there? Are more people finding steady, good paying gigs? Is it possibly time to sideline the bath salt running and return to a 9 to 5 you can tell your mom about? If you’ve been plugged into the local news cycle over the last 24 hours, you might have gotten wind of some reasons to be sanguine about the job market. Some 800 or so reasons.
Recent statistics put the unemployment number in Cuyahoga County at 7.4 percent, which actually gives us a leg up on the state (9 percent) and the US of A (8.6 percent . . . maybe). Perhaps further putting us ahead of the national trend: over the last week, a number of open positions have been announced in Northeast Ohio.

Any sign of hope is good even if it’s in the form of casino jobs. The gambling addiction shrinks will also be putting up shingles soon, and hiring staffs to convince some poor shmuck not to off himself because of gambling debts. Now that the big bucks and banks and giant corps own the gambling business, owing money to the big houses are less likely to get you deep-sixed in the shallow lake Erie. They might take your house and all your assets, but you will keep your knee-caps in tact. You still better be careful when you loose a shit load of money that you can not get hold of, as there will be under-the-table bottom feeders willing to rearange your face or worse for a few c notes. Be careful folks, Cleveland is still a rough place to owe money you can’t pay and can not afford to loose. Have fun but don’t get addicted…especially if you have dependents. Gambling addictions can be as bad as crack or meth when it comes to ruining you and your family’s lives. There is nothing better at creating OCB than gambling. You are almost better off being a drunk and a two-pack-a-dayer than a guy who has the gambling bug bad. The lottery has Ohio all primed up now as many people give up to 70% of their fixed income on it. But then there is the good feeling of making our schools better as a result of the lottery…how’s that been working out? The nice part about the casinos is hard working republicans like the fucking Donald will get your money…and then have your assed fired when you can’t pay up. And the prick will scream at you while he is fucking you to death..Guys like the fucking Donald are great Americans. Lucky us.
