Just in case you needed another data point on the terminal idiocy of Joe the Plumber, the man and his limp noodle of a congressional campaign, we submit the following:

“Imagine being the child of a mixed-race marriage – especially in the turbulent 60’s and free-wheeling 70’s,” his letter said. “And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist – you know it could not have been easy – and they were communists for crying out loud!”

Those lines are lifted from a letter The Plumber — given name Samuel Wurzelbacher — recently wrote as part of his campaign to unseat Marcy Kaptur in the upcoming house election. The text is called “I’m Blessed to be a Christian” (honestly Sam, you could have left us with a little suspense); it sounds like the letter was written with the best intentions, to remind all those terrified Ohio housewives that the president is in fact a Christian, and it’s not cool to say he isn’t.

  1. After I stopped all of my long-winded and mostly disliked comments on scene for a while, I realize that I was indeed making the site unpopular. The only articles which get response are the ones about local bars or eateries. I was interfering with the free flow of ideas about what bars are good and missed or bad in the eyes of the critics on site. Those with any political discussions like Joe and Jimmy and Frank seem to only get in the way of the more important focus on bar owners and their following. I can’t blame scene for reporting for their current customers, but do you think you could reach out to more people on your news blog? I mean you have the distribution of the paper filled with bar and band stuff and that is good because they are paying for your paper..but the social media is different and maybe you want to try some things to increase your following.   2. I still cannot fanthom why this guy has received so much media attention.
    Is it because he is a Plumber and can talk shit ?
    He needs to get back to fixing toilets as most politicians treat us like crap anyway and we really dont need another shit slinger.
