Joe the shameless fameball Plumber (who signs his tax return as Joe Wurzelbacher) is thinking about switching up his MO. Instead of hanging on the sidelines lobbing insensible criticisms at politicians, everyone’s favorite ’08 campaign meme is actually considering running for office, according to the Toledo Blade.
Surely you remember Wurzelbacher, who was upgraded from plumber to some kind of red meat grassroots political stage prop when he asked then-candidate Obama some tough questions at a Ohio campaign stop in the last election cycle. Since then, he hasn’t been acting very grassrootsy, what with TV appearances and jet-setting around the country hanging with the Palins and Anne Coulter.

The Lucas County Republicans must be extremely desperate if Joe the plumber is the best candidate they can muster. Fred, the TV repairman is looking for a job. Maybe they can convince him to run too.
