Like most bleak entries in the annals of modern Cleveland Browns lore, the news came via a Sunday afternoon tweet from Adam Schefter: “Browns WR Josh Gordon flunked another drug test and now will be subject to a one-year banishment, per league sources.” It was an alcohol test, which he gets screened for regularly after his July 2014 DUI.

Reminder: Gordon was suspended for 10 games last season after testing positive for marijuana use. He trotted out the old “second-hand smoke” defense, at which the NFL just laughed laughed laughed. …Maybe this time a highball just, like, spilled into his mouth or something?

Here’s Gordon, struggling through complete sentence composition and trying to save face last September: “Hopefully this time, the biggest and the best I’ve ever been. Really looking forward to giving the people what they deserve, not letting anyone down, myself included. And exceeding their expectations.” LOL
