Controversial “business communicator” Kelly Blazek has agreed to return her oft-touted 2013 “Business Communicator of the Year” award to the Cleveland Chapter of The International Association of Business Communicators, a professional group for business communication.

The IABC Cleveland Chapter board of directors and Kelly Blazek have mutually agreed that she will return the chapter’s 2013 Communicator of the Year award. The decision was made in the best interest of IABC, its members, and its mission.
Blazek also agreed, per the IABC, not to use the award in further promotion or self-aggrandizement.
Social media backlash to the nasty emails Blazek sent job seekers prompted her retreat from the online sphere late last month — Blazek’s blog and social media accounts have been removed.
Though the IABC acknowledges that Blazek really does care about keeping talent in the region and helping out ambitious young folks within the business community — or so she claims!!! — the organization was worried the news, which went national and then international, might dissuade internet-fluent millennials from moving to Cleveland.
For now, Blazek is maintaining a low profile, confident that the Chief Wahoo controversy and selifies will continue to hog the region’s media spotlight.

Ol’ Kelly can run, but she can’t hide. Her arrogant self has to emerge out of a hole at some point and answer pointed questions concerning her boorish, juvenile personality…highlighted by that real fake smile.
It’s funny….if any of us average joes out there did something like this, we’d most likely be fired. But, oh no…she has to return an award and said I’m sorry. Big deal…..
Ms. Kelly Blazek has helped many people begin, continue and change careers in this city and outside of it. Ok, she made an error.. but who of any us hasn’t made one and still be allowed to continue to learn and grow from it? Taking an award or job from her simply because her words ended up in the press is killing the beneficial good she has done over twenty years in her career. The real story should be why it is so hard to get a job in Cleveland in the first place and why even young professionals are so rude and entitled in a struggling city, where unification and growth isn’t happening.
This is how people in positions of power really feel about all the “little people” out there. I’m not sure why she has so much spite and obvious hate for 20-something job seekers, but wow. The sarcasm and scorn in her comments are just astounding. She’s probably just pissed off that all her buddies in positions of power in Cleveland are now sitting in jail.
She’s crap. And it’s clear now what a hoax she is. Look at how she has handled this mess. Terse and phony “carefully worded apologies” followed by total radio silence. Yeah she’s a real communications guru alright.
1) It doesn’t take a genius to know even a total career meltdown like this could have been handled with some honest contrition
2) if she’s such a big shot where are her “high-level” colleagues to pull here cheese out of the fire now?

Oh, she was just fine as COTY…for 2013, anyhow. But she is out of running for 2014 after a hefty increase in her cop-hating, military-baiting ways, not to mention her chairmanship of The Greater Cleveland Holocaust Deniers Club, as well as the Chardon Puppy Kickers.
Hamwallet: What makes you think she is skilled in the art of hand-jobbery? Ellen DeGeneres’s evil doppelganger will have none of that. She is a high-level communicator who uses her hands to make a point, even if it is a bad one.
Rodrigo Lewallen, she is a bitch. Any nice things she has done for people had to benefited her in someway. She is a disgusting bully, who got what she deserves. She can only stay underground for so long. Eventually she will have to come back to the harsh glare of life, and I hope people continue to shit on her, until the day she slips out of this mortal coil. You can’t treat people like that. Some artists work in oil or clay, Kelly Blazek works on others misery. She had to craft those emails, proofread, fix punctuation, etc. That makes it so deliberate that I can not forgive. That blown out, horse faced woman is now reaping what she has sown. And I love it.
