A Richmond Heights man called 911 yesterday after he locked his keys in his vehicle without considering what would happen if police discovered the drugs he was storing inside.

The man’s car was parked at the Nestle USA lot on Harper Road, when police arrived to aid the man in unlocking his car.

Once the officer got the car door open, an overwhelming odor of marijuana poured from the vehicle.

The officer searched the man’s car and found “37 separate packages of suspected marijuana, with a total weight of just over one ounce,” the Plain Dealer reported.

$426 in cash was also found in the car.

The man was arrested and charged with a fourth-degree felony.
