The Cleveland area was hit with some extremely sad and disturbing criminal activity this last week, including the alleged murder of Aisha Fraser Mason and a violent carjacking in Brooklyn Centre.
But over in Willoughby, police needed help finding a man who stole … wait for it … a scarf. Seems that while patronizing the city’s Barrio location on Nov. 4, one man was caught on camera taking a scarf that wasn’t his. The owner reported the item missing to police who recently posted security video of the man caught in the act. In the footage, it looks as if the man tries to return the accessory to a nearby woman (or maybe she’s his accomplice?) before escaping.
Watch that below:
According to police, the left-behind scarf had sentimental value to its owner.
Now, for the record, stealing is still illegal in this country. But that didn’t stop the internet from coming for this post.
Of course, other commenters took issue with folks making fun of the matter at hand, saying that stealing is stealing and criminal activity is a slippery slope. The video currently has 28,000 views. If you have any other information about the culprit, contact the Willoughby Police Department at 440-953-4212; reference 18-32452.
