Hear a tale about a man unloading his gun on a poor, defenseless cat and you might assume the suspect is a sadistic S.O.B. who hates animals. You wouldn’t think that the dude would have cats of his own.
But that’s exactly what the Sandusky Register says about Daniel Franklin. He may leave food out for other cats, but he knows when he sees the wrong element loitering in his yard. The 51-year-old obviously saw something he didn’t like in the eyes Creampuff, his neighbor’s cat, and took out his .22-caliber rifle, took aim, and fired.
Beth Hoover, Creampuff’s owner, saw her little darling sprinting across their yard bleeding profusely. Her husband followed the blood trails and they led back to Franklin’s house.
When asked if he shot the cat, Franklin simply said yes. But he had a reason, you see. He thought Creampuff was an “aggressive male that would be pissing all over.” Creampuff, as it turns out, is a 10-month-old female cat. Whoops.
Franklin was charged with animal cruelty.
Creampuff was taken to a local vet. Her condition is not known.

It’s about time we started fighting back against cat’s using our gardens and lawns as their private litter boxes.
But instead of shooting the cats, we should take aim at the owners and take them to court, or call the animal warden to take these “wild, but fed by good-intentioned neighbors.”
Why wasnt creampuffs owner cited for his cat running amuck?
This guy is a real charmer. Glad I don’t live next door. What does he do about squirrels, chipmunks, deer, birds…? the only aggressive male in this story is the 51 year old man!
