Matthew Bellamy, the Cleveland-area 30-year-old who gained nationwide attention after wearing a LeBron jersey to an Indians game just days after “The Decision,” is in serious condition at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo after being attacked earlier this week.
According to the Sandusky Register, Bellamy was with friends around 3 a.m. on Monday after leaving a bar. The group had stopped to drop someone off at their house when a car pulled up behind them. 23-year-old Robert Horton allegedly exited that vehicle and went after Bellamy.
Witnesses told police Horton hit him three times, with Bellamy’s head striking the concrete on the fall and subsequently after two more blows.
A warrant has been issued for Holton’s arrest.
In all sincerity, thoughts and prayers in Matthew Bellamy’s direction.

Although I do not condone the violence I have to say after watching how stupid this dude was for wearing a ledouche heat jersey at an Indians game and that it was just for attention be it bad or good and that I am sure he had to have known the odds were high someone somewhere in Cleveland was gonna kick his a** for wearing it. It is possible that this time he was just a victim of a senseless crime but because of the behavior I listed you have to wonder what he might have done to get his a** handed to him.
Who gives a crap about this kid. Fights happen everyday, Especially outside of bars at 3 a.m. I hate to be the person who “blames the victim”, but this is obviously a kid who likes confrontation. I was at the game this kid was at, sitting a couple sections behind him and his chick. Given the circumstances, he knew what he was getting into, and even incited the ire of Cleveland fans around him.
That is beside the point. Why is Scene singling out this guy. Do me a favor, Scene. Why don’t you give your condolences to EVERYONE who’s ever been in a fight after a night at the bar. Everyone, or no one. If this Horton kid followed him home after a bar, chances are he wasn’t just picking a random person to assault, and I’m sure it wasn’t because he wore a LeBron jersey to an Indians game a year ago. Bellamy certainly seems like a person who likes confrontation. Fights happen, especially to pricks.
Really?! It’s stories like this that make me think everyone in Ohio has lost touch with reality. A basketball player got a job in another city. A YEAR AGO. GET THE HELL OVER IT. You’re only going to make sure no one else ever wants to play there.
Thats just ignorant. Who gives a shit what he wants to wear, its his body its his choice to express himself. Why do people think they can do whatever they want to other people without any regard? Why would he think someone would kick his ass for that??? SERIOUSLY??? ITS A FUCKING JERSEY!!!!! James isnt friends with ANY OF YOU why do you give a shit what the hell he does with his personal life? Get the fuck over it and leave people alone. I seriously hope that whoever did this gets whats comin to him. People have no morals. Makes me sick.
No one knows if this is even related, the kid is obviously a douche bag and he probably finally pissed off the wrong person. Stop blaming Cleveland sports fans for this
Stop saying that its his fault. If no one knows the true story there is no one to blame.
And @BryanDickens…who cares about this kid?? Probably his girlfriend, his parents, his siblings…wtf is wrong with you? People are just sickening. That is someones child!!!!! Imagine if that was your child, would you be singing the same song then? Serisouly shut the hell up if you have nothing nice to say. Thats horrible, like Cleveland needs any more fucking violence.
So Queenzie what you are saying is that I can’t support my favorite team or player just because the
locals are supporting anotherteam (I remember at a Cavs game a fan got a shaving cream pie becausee he
was wearing an Shaq jersey by mascot Moondog. .. Funny at the time) I root for Michigan EVERY time they
play Ohio State. People at work are Steelers fans and they feel the Browns never won a Championship.
In point..I paid top dollar for my LeBron jersey I should be free to wear it when and where I please.
Yeah..that sucks the guy got the dogshit beat out of him. As one other person commented about “LeBron leaving a year ago” “YES” get the hell over it already. And as for the guy getting beat down, it is obvious he is a smartass. He probably said some off the wall stuff to someone and pissed him off. After all why would you where a “HEAT” jersey at a cleveland event after the “SO CALLED DECISION”. He was a smart ass then and was most likely a smart ass at the bar.
Was he wearing Horton’s ex’s jersey at the bar?
