David Muniz and Matthew Prince were the Cleveland policemen responsible for misidentifying Angela Bradley-Crockett’s body on the side of I-90 as that of a deer carcass. In their defense, it’s hard to correctly identify a body, or anything at all, while driving by at 50 mph, but in any case, they screwed up.

The pair were suspended for six months sans pay in May.

During the day of the incident, internal tracking showed Muniz and Prince had spent hours sitting in the parking lot of a cemetery. The duo claimed they were staking out the area based on reports of thieves stealing metal. Still, they seemed to be sitting in the parking lot quite a long time.

An internal investigation has revealed that Muniz and Price didn’t just sit in a parking lot that day. They seem to love sitting in parking lots all over the city, especially during times they claimed they were working cases.

  1. Does this reporter ever actually do any reporting, or is this just a lame op-ed piece for him to throw out snide and cynical comments? 20 hours in a parking lot covering a 3 month period? That doesn’t sound too extreme. And the only thing wafting in the air of a parking lot at Christie’s (or any other parking lot for that matter) is exhaust fumes. A parking lot is a parking lot, it doesn’t matter which one, they’re pretty much all the same. Why didn’t the reporter bother to check out the amount of time other officers spend parked? Why didn’t the reporter check on Loomis claim about doing reports while parked in their car? I’m guessing the reason is this writer isn’t a reporter at all, just another jackass with an opinion, and a seemingly poorly-informed one at that.

  2. Each time Loomis makes an excuse for cops caught in the act, he looses credibility with the people of Cleveland. It’s the same when Al Sharpton said it is the white cop’s fault the black kid was shot. Come on Steve, these two screwed up, now admit it and defend them.
