The list is out! The salaries of Cleveland’s public employees have been released in the form of a searchable list. We combed through that list, which can be found here, to find the top ten earners on Cleveland’s payroll for 2013.

Mayor Frank G. Jackson comes in as the fourth highest paid employee. Many of the slots are held by the mayor and his cabinet.

Another trend is that nine of the ten slots are held by men, and the only woman comes in at number ten.

Is there anyone on this list who should be paid more? How about less?

  1. Wait a minute. Sari Feldman is the Executive Director of the Cuyahoga Public Library and she makes at least $225,000.00 a year last time I looked. Plus I believe they pay her PERS and insurance benefit contribution. Isn’t she a Public official?

  2. This completely ignores the publicly-funded staff at CSU. There are a number of administrators, especially the overpaid and underworked president, whose salaries treble the mayor’s; I’m not sure why they aren’t on this list since they are more paid by our tax dollars than by tuition.

  3. @justtired

Cuyahoga County Public Library does not operate in Cleveland. Their administration operates out of Parma.

  4. If you’ve ever had to deal with anything that starts with the title “Cleveland Public”, this list will blow your mind.

  5. This list doesn’t account for total compensation (overtime), just base salary. If it did the Mayor wouldn’t make the top 25. People in my department made over $140,000 last year.

  6. Boy, I guess not much is happening in Ricky’s life since the most interesting thing we can find out about him is what pages he’s liked on FB. I guess 225k per year can’t make you an exciting/interesting person.
