Cleveland.com reports that Michael Brelo has entered a no-contest plea in Rocky River Municipal Court for an attack on his brother in Bay Village in May.
The altercation occurred four days after Brelo was acquitted of all charges in the shooting deaths of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams, an acquittal that resulted in days of protesting in Cleveland’s streets.
Brelo and his brother Mark were both originally charged with assault for the May incident. It’s unknown what caused the ruckus, but police were called when a shirtless Mark Brelo started banging on neighbors’ doors and telling them to call the police.
Mark was pretty banged up at the time, having been struck repeatedly in the head, face and body, according to the original complaint.
Cleveland.com reports that Michael Brelo agreed to plead no contest to a reduced charge of persistent disorderly conduct. He’ll be on the hook for $125 and court costs, but that appears to be it.
Mark Brelo’s trial is set to begin January 11.
In related news, Michael Brelo evidently wants to return to the Cleveland police and “continue his career,” according to Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association President Steve Loomis.
Brelo’s still on unpaid leave as the Cleveland police honchos ponder disciplinary action.

Our courts keep giving this sick lunatic a break and sooner or later he will kill again. Anyone who would jump on the hood of a car and unload every magazine of ammo he had on him into two unarmed people is someone who is truly deranged. I wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised had he murdered his twin brother that night. But I guess they’ll still be having him patrolling our streets with a gun. Had they stuck with a domestic violence charge in this domestic violence case, we could have kept a gun ut of is hands. Our courts will bear the blame for any and all future violence this man commits.
