Mohican State Park is jumping on the social media bandwagon by launching its first-ever “Instahike” trek- a scenic three mile hike where participants are encouraged to snap pics and post observations to Instagram along the way.

A park naturalist, geologist, and fall color expert will guide hikers to Big and Little Lyons Falls, Pleasant Hill Dam, and the covered bridge.

The point, of course, is to spread the word about how beautiful fall in Ohio is, an Ohio Department of Natural Resources spokesperson told the PD.

It’s also probably to get people off their lazy asses and out into the community.

The hike begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Covered Bridge picnic area off Ohio 97, just south of Loudonville. You can also follow the hike virtually on Instagram by searching #instahikeOhio, #ohiofallcolor2013 and #mohicanstatepark.

Sounds like a delightful way to spend your Saturday morning, don’tcha think?
